Managed a $25-million+ engineering project for a global telecommunications company, upgrading computer systems throughout geographically disbursed locations.

AT&T
Atlanta, Georgia

The Challenge

Continued growth and expansion experienced by AT&T, generated the need for the global giant to upgrade computers in operations and maintenance centers. Project centers requiring upgrades were geographically disbursed across the United States. The resulting project management requirements were complex and extremely comprehensive.

The Solution

Through a carefully defined scope of work and timetables, responsibilities for the $25-million+ budget for computer upgrades included creating Requests for Proposals, assessing competitive bids, risks analysis, ensuring standard architecture requirements and negotiating delivery. Extremely detailed estimates, project plans and capital budget management procedures were developed and executed. Plan implementation included management of project teams, coordinating installations with field management personnel and vendors, overseeing installations and completing project reports.

The Results

All data centers were transitioned in time and met Y2K requirements and capital budget constraints, insuring systems readiness.
